Chile Mulls Tougher Dispensing Rules

A Senate committee in Chile is to examine stiffer penalties for falsifying prescriptions. The plans could grant scripts the same legal status as government documents, thus implying a short prison sentence and a fine for falsification. The measures - which appear likely to succeed - are part of the country's new National Medicines Policy, which envisages tighter regulation of the pharmaceuticals sector.
