Argentina To Fine Sanofi-Aventis
May 2006 | Legal NewsArgentine consumer watchdog CNDC has fined French drug major Sanofi-Aventis ARS0.83mn (US$0.27mn) for failing to notify finance ministry officials of merger plans in 2003. The acquisition of Aventis by Sanofi-Synthelabo created the world's third-largest drug company. In Argentina, notification of merger plans must be given within 185 working days.
