Andean States Agree Bird Flu Plan
April 2006 | Company Finance AlertThe health ministers of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Chile have agreed to co-ordinate on responses to any outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza. The virus has not yet been found in the Americas, but recent action in the hemisphere has included a US$85mn order for supposed bird flu treatment Tamiflu (oseltamivir) by the Brazilian government.
