Brazil's Drug Industry Eyes Growth Surge
April 2006 | Company Finance AlertWith new government data indicating total drug sales of BRL1.7bn (US$800mn) in February 2006, Brazil's pharmaceutical producers expect growth of 30% this year. The country's second-largest homegrown drugmaker, EMS Sigma - which reported a 40% rise in sales to US$461mn in 2005 - expects to grow its market share 30%. The company's overall share in total sales last year was 6.7%. EMS is to triple solids production, following a US$50mn investment at its main production
