Health Canada Investigates Janssen-Ortho's Contraceptive Patch
April 2006 | Company Finance AlertThe Canadian regulatory authority - Health Canada - is investigating Janssen-Ortho's Evra (ethinylestradiol + norelgestromin) contraceptive patch after two studies showed use of the US version of the product was associated with increased blood clots. The authority says the medication should be discontinued at the first instance of abnormal blood clotting. The version of Evra marketed in Canada is manufactured differently and contains less oestrogen than the US
