BMS To Expand In Puerto Rico

US pharmaceutical firm Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) is to invest a further US$200mn in its Puerto Rican manufacturing facility. The expansion at Manati will focus on steriles packaging and production of biotech products such as new rheumatoid arthritis drug Orencia (abatacept). Puerto Rico has recently improved incentives and exemptions for so-called 'pioneer' companies, with recent major investments in the US territory recently outlined by major firms including Amgen, Abbott Laboratories and Eli Lilly.
