Multinationals Respond To Asia's Diabetes Threat
July 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisDiabetes is rapidly becoming a serious global problem with the World Health Organisation (WHO) estimating that 177mn people in the world are affected with the disease, with this expected to increase to 300mn by 2025. According to recent reports in Time magazine, diabetes is spreading more rapidly in Asia than anywhere else. It is estimated that 89mn Asians are diabetic with four of the five largest diabetic populations to be found in the region.
