Novartis Files Xolair In Japan

Swiss drug major Novartis has filed its Xolair asthma treatment in Japan. If approved, the monoclonal antibody will be Japan's first-in-class therapy for severe forms of the respiratory disorder. Xolair - which was developed with Roche-affiliated Genentech and US-based Tanox - was first approved in the US in 2003. Around 3,000 of Japan's 4mn asthmatics die from the disease each year, according to
