UAE Introducing New Health Insurance Scheme
June 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisExpatriate workers in the Abu Dhabi are to be boosted by the new Private Health Insurance scheme in Abu Dhabi, which is scheduled to start on July 1. Under the plan, employers that have a staff of more than 1,000 will have to provide health insurance for their employees, their dependants and up to three children below the age of eighteen. It is estimated that up to 500,000 people will profit from the scheme, with low-paid workers earning under AED600 (US$163.35) being among the first beneficiaries.
