Middle East Facing Heart Disease Epidemic
May 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisThe Middle East is on the verge of an epidemic of heart disease, according to leading health experts in the region. A recent study conducted in the UAE, revealed that 24.5% of all nationals surveyed were suffering from Diabetes Mellitus. Further, 33% of those studied were obese, while 25.9% had hypertension. These three conditions are all serious contributory factors to cardiovascular disease (CVD).
