Israel Boosts Health Basket Funding
May 2006 | Market Trend AnalysisIsrael has announced that there will be an additional NIS350mn (US$77.45mn) made available for healthcare in 2006, at the expense of a budget reserve scheduled for 2007. The extra funding will allow ten new medicines to be covered by the state. These could include drugs to treat heart failure, prostate cancer, sever asthma and breast cancer. Israel's Health Basket - which offers life saving drugs to patients not covered by the country's sick funds - will decide which medicines to add on August 1st.
