Africa Aiming To Abolish Healthcare Fees, Train Medical Workers

International charity Save the Children has called for wealthy nations to help Africa abolish healthcare fees, which prevent low-income families from receiving medical attention. International donors, as a way of offsetting the costs of healthcare and making medical structures more sustainable, have encouraged healthcare fees across the continent. However, in areas where they have been introduced the uptake of medical services has often fallen, in some cases by as much as 40-50% claims the charity.
