Health Insurance Yet To Take Off In UAE

The penetration of health insurance remains low in the UAE, despite recent government efforts to increase its uptake. The authorities are planning to introduce comprehensive health insurance throughout the country, which could see businesses forced to provide health cover for employees. However, insurance premium density per capita in the country (which includes insurance premiums for all sectors) lies at US$444.4, compared to figures of US$4,508.4 and US$5,716.5 for the UK and Switzerland
