Lack Of R&D Investment Blights Jordanian Drug Market

The drug market in Jordan grew strongly in 2005 both domestically and internationally. The top three local companies - Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Dar Al Dawa and Arab Pharmaceutical Manufacturing - together account for approximately 18% of the market. Meanwhile, exports of medical and pharmaceutical products reached JOD198.4mn (US$280.03mn), an increase of 25.3% compared to 2004, when they stood at JOD158.4mn
