South Africa To Double Health Worker Headcount
March 2006 | Company Finance AlertSouth Africa's department of Health has recently announced that it is to double the annual supply of doctors and increase numbers of nurses and pharmacists by 50% by 2011, in a bid to combat crippling staff shortages in the health sector. Presently, 27% of positions in the public health sector remain unfilled due to fluctuating numbers of staff coming for training institutions, and the migration of health workers to both the private sector and overseas.
