AstraZeneca Sues Teva
March 2006 | Legal NewsAnglo-Swedish drugmaker AstraZeneca has filed a lawsuit against Israeli generics major Teva over an alleged infringement of its blockbuster ulcer treatment Nexium. AstraZeneca claims the lawsuit is a response to an application filed by US drug firm Ivax to produce generic versions of Nexium. Teva acquired Ivax in 2005 for US$7.4bn. Nexium is AstraZeneca's best selling medicine, generating sales of US$4.6bn last year.
