Pliva Sells German Manufacturing Facility

Croatian firm Pliva has sold its German production division - AWD.pharma - to Italian company Menarini. The high cost of doing business in Germany has been cited as the reason for the divestiture. Transfer of drug production to more competitive locations is already underway and should be completed by 2008.
