Healthcare Reform Will See Parliamentary Debate Before Elections

While mandatory contributions to healthcare funds are set to remain unchanged, with the inclusion of the concept of basic and supplementary services the bill brings about an opportunity to raise funds from complementary or supplementary health insurance options, offering patients access to medical services which are not covered (or sometimes only partially covered) by the state's basic package. Like previous drafts of the bill, one of the most notable aspects of the reform is the introduction of private insurers; with competition between private and public healthcare insurers one of the main pillars of the legislation.
