Counterfeit Medical Devices On Increase

BMI View: Unless more stringent regulations are introduced, the oversight of medical devices will always lag behind the attention afforded to pharmaceuticals. We highlight that medical equipment that is easy to manufacture and has high commercial value is likely to be counterfeited, potentially compromising patient safety. In addition, we expect more counterfeit combinatorial pharmaceutical/medical devices to be produced as criminal organisations improve their technological skills.
