Government efforts to improve healthcare accessibility to marginalised people are undoubtedly to be encouraged, but BMI notes that this will place a heavy burden on the already over-stretched public healthcare services. This will consequentially put downside pressure on commercial returns generated by pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers.
