New IDF Data Shows Huge Increase In MENA Diabetes Prevalence

The rapid societal transition to a more urbanised lifestyle with little exercise and poor diets has caused a huge increase in obesity, which in turn has seen huge increases in diabetes mellitus rates. New data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) show the opportunities and rewards for selling insulin and anti-diabetes drugs in the MENA region are even greater than previously thought. This means that drugmakers already operating in the region can rest assured that they've made a sound investment and indicates that more attention should be paid to Lebanon, Kuwait and Egypt for diabetes.
