Labour Shortage, Regulatory Concerns Threaten Region's Clinical Trial Leader

BMI View: The same nationalistic sentiments that helped prop up Brazil's domestic pharmaceutical sector have translated into the country's growing clinical trials sector. While more reforms are still required before we see more late-phase clinical studies, we believe the country's strong regulatory environment, welcoming business environment and recent string of government-led research and development (R&D) investments should help it grab the attention and recognition of drugmakers and clinical research organisations (CROs).
