Free Trade Agreement Would Be A Boon For Indian Drugmakers But A Threat To Local Companies
October 2011 | Industry Trend AnalysisBMI View: A free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will help Indian drugmakers to take a greater market share of the generic drug segment, primarily at the expense of Middle Eastern drugmakers. BMI believes the growth in generic drugs sales in the GCC will outpace the growth in patented medicine sales, especially with the upcoming patent cliff.
