Europe, US and Japan Will Remain The Leaders Of Pharmaceutical Innovation

BMI View: The availability of a highly educated scientific workforce is of vital importance to drugmakers seeking to either outsource or transfer manufacturing and research and development (R&D) into a new market or region. The Innovation Union Scoreboard for 2010 illustrates regional disparities in innovation in Europe and across the world. The index shows that Japan, the US and the EU continue to be the home of R&D and that while major emerging markets including China and Brazil have made considerable progress, an innovation gulf between the regions will remain.
