Generic Drugs Expenditure To Rise Despite Pricing Threat

BMI View: The promotion of generic drugs is crucial to the Slovakian government measures to reduce the costs of the publicly-funded drug reimbursement regime. However, the introduction of new generic drug pricing policies does reduce the attractiveness of this market and could delay the appearance of new medicines. BMI notes that further drug price controls applied to all prescription drugs and other additional amendments to healthcare policy will affect the Slovak drug market in late 2011.
